Fire it Up! -- Adult Winter Reading Contest 2013

Fire it Up! -- Adult Winter Reading Contest 2013

Are you ready for some Grown-up fun?

Why do kids get to have all the fun? Soon, the holidays will be upon us and a new year will begin with a rush and new resolutions, but what do we have to do to have a little fun around here? The Longview, Kelso, Kalama, and Castle Rock public libraries have an answer for you!

Introducing “Fire it Up!” the new winter reading program where adults can win prizes – just for reading!  Each library will be offering weekly prize drawings with two county-wide grand prize winners. The contest starts January 1 and ends February 28, 2013. Anyone 18 years and older is eligible to participate. To enter, read or listen to a book, fill out an entry form with your information and a short summary of the book, then drop it off at your local library.

Entry forms will be available at the Longview, Kelso, Kalama, and Castle Rock libraries or downloadable from the libraries’ web pages. You do not need a library card to participate. You can enter as many times as you want – one entry form per book. The more you read, the more entries you can submit.

Fire up that library card for your chance to win great prizes donated by local businesses and to be eligible to win one of two grand prizes – a Kindle Fire or $200 in gift certificates. It will be a cold winter, but that is ok. The grown-ups of Cowlitz County will stay nice and warm because Reading is HOT!

This program has been made possible by generous donations from the Friends of the Longview Library, Early Edition Rotary, Longview Library Foundation, Longview Rotary, and Altrusa Longview/Kelso. Our libraries thank you for your support.

For more information, contact your local library:  Longview, 442-5300; Kelso, 423-8110; Kalama, 673-4568; and Castle Rock, 274-6961.
